Lani Nesbit, Founder & Designer
Born and raised in New York City, Lani Nesbit developed an early passion for style as a form of self-expression. Inspired by her childhood love of gold jewelry, nameplates, and mood rings, Lani sought to create affordable, high-quality pieces that wouldn’t tarnish or cause skin allergies—leading her to explore stainless steel as the cornerstone material for her designs.
In 2011, after being laid off, Lani channeled her entrepreneurial spirit into launching JLANI Jewels. Starting with a small collection and a self-built website, she hosted trunk shows and collaborated with stylists to gain visibility. Her determination paid off when Blake Lively wore a pair of JLANI earrings in the film The Shallows, helping to catapult the brand onto the global stage.
Since then, JLANI Jewels has sold in over 80 countries and earned a devoted following, including celebrity clients like Beyoncé, Lizzo, Oprah Winfrey, Willow Smith, and Tamron Hall. The brand has been featured in prominent publications such as Essence, Vogue and Marie Claire, as well as in music videos, TV shows, and commercials.
Lani’s mission is clear: to design timeless, sentimental, and statement-worthy pieces that stand the test of time, offering beauty, durability, and meaning to every wearer.
